Helios named Firm of the Year in Africa

PEI award highlights: “Helios Investment Partners secured the title Firm of the Year in Africa as a result of its numerous investments in 2021 across multiple industries, including retail and healthcare. Elsewhere, Helios successfully completed its exit from GBfoods Africa, one of the continent’s largest FMCG companies.”
In 2021, Helios:
- Invested in BIM Morocco, the largest discount grocery retailer in Morocco with over 550 stores across the country
- Acquired a majority stake in the largest and most diversified group of MedTech companies in Morocco. The consolidated group operates in medical devices, in vitro diagnostic and pharmaceuticals, and comprises four companies: Techniques Science Santé (“T2S”), IM Alliance, Cyclopharma and Binarios
- Exited its investment in GBfoods Africa, one of Africa’s largest FMCG businesses (with presence in over 30 African countries and market-leading brands in the tomato paste, bouillon cube and mayonnaise categories) generating strong financial, social and environmental performance
- Supported portfolio company, Starsight Energy, to become the first renewable energy company in Nigeria to secure carbon credit accreditation
