Helios named Firm of the Year in Africa

Helios was named Firm of the Year in Africa in the Private Equity International awards: “Helios Investment Partners took the lead in this category by quite some distance.”
In 2019, Helios:
- Completed investing its third pan-African fund, Helios III ($1.1 billion, the largest fund ever raised for Africa), with an investment in Hytech, a leading breeder and producer of proprietary agricultural seeds in Egypt, and one of the Middle East and Africa’s largest independent seed companies
- Listed Fawry, a pioneering electronic payments network, on the Egyptian Stock Exchange
- Listed Helios Towers, a leading independent African telecom tower company founded by Helios, on the London Stock Exchange
- Supported Acorn, a top-tier property developer focused on purpose-built student housing in Nairobi, in the launch of a medium-term note in Kenya that is the first green bond in East Africa – subsequently cross-listed on the International Securities Market of the London Stock Exchange
- Announced the sale to Visa of a minority stake in Interswitch, a leading technology-driven company focused on the digitization of payments in Nigeria and other countries in Africa
- Completed the sale of Eland, an independent oil and gas company in West Africa, to Seplat Petroleum Development Company
